RUTHERFORD TEAM STEAL THE SHOW
Employees from a Borders car dealership have swept the board at a national awards ceremony in London.
An incredible four staff from Rutherford Earlston SEAT at Rhymers Tower Service Station took
top awards at the SEAT GO! People Awards which recognise excellence in all areas of the
Spanish car maker’s 120-strong UK dealer network.
Service Manager Bryan Moore and Service Adviser Craig Scott both won their respective categories,
claiming £1,000 each in the process.
Meanwhile, Parts Manager Angus Baxter won £500 as runner-up in his category while
Sales Executive Malcolm Robertson took home £250 for finishing third.
Bryan’s achievement was particularly monumental as he won the same award last year
and both he and Craig will now go forward to represent SEAT UK at an international competition
held annually by the brand in Spain.
Rutherford Earlston SEAT Dealer Principal, John Wilson, is absolutely delighted with his
team’s performance in the competition which rewards the most talented and knowledgeable
individuals working in all disciplines at SEAT dealerships nationwide.
He said: ‘It’s notoriously difficult to reach the final of the GO! People Awards and so to have
four of our team there was absolutely amazing.
‘We are all so proud of what they have achieved and their success just goes to underline our
philosophy that a great dealership is based on great people and we now know we have five
of the best people around.’
Bryan added: ‘I couldn’t believe it when I won last year and so I’m absolutely over the moon
to have won the award two years running. Now I can’t wait to get to Barcelona to represent
the UK in the international competition.’
Star SEAT Sport UK racing driver and TV personality Jason Plato, who presented the awards,
was impressed by the dedication the award winners displayed to make it through the competition.
He said: ‘To make it to this stage of the competition people had to be at the very top of their game
as they were put through their paces in a series of tough tests over a period of months.
‘The advanced skills and level of knowledge each of them has displayed is truly incredible and
customers at their dealerships should be delighted to know that both they and their vehicles
are in such safe and competent hands.’
